New Xbox Ghost Cipher special edition controller set for october release

Microsoft is set to introduce a new Xbox controller, the Ghost Cipher Special Edition, following a recent report by Dealabs. It is rumored that the controller will be launched on September 24 and will be available in the market from October 8. Retailing at $69. 99, the Ghost Cipher Special Edition will join the list of Microsoft’s themed controllers for the Xbox Series X/S. New orders are expected to open at the same time as the announcement of the product.

Microsoft has not officially revealed the Ghost Cipher yet, but according to Dealabs it will probably have a transparent design, much like the Sky Cipher controller from the previous year. The first one is the Sky Cipher with blue transparent design and the second one is speculated to be the Ghost Cipher having white or light color but this is still unconfirmed.

Transparent electronics were a fad in the late 1990s where companies such as Nintendo, Apple and Sony had products made with clear plastic. This design trend almost faded away over the years but the recent release of Sky Cipher and now the Ghost Cipher controllers by Xbox hints at a possible comeback.

The Ghost Cipher Special Edition is the latest in Microsoft’s continuing attempts to provide different styled controllers to its consumers. It has been known in the market for coming up with new models of controllers often to suit the preference of its fans.

Microsoft expands custom controller offerings for gamers

Microsoft has maintained a constant cycle of hardware releases, often introducing new controllers to the market. This includes features such as the Xbox Design Lab, where fans can create their own controllers, a feature that has been well-received by both Xbox and PC gamers. Microsoft has made it a point to offer a variety of Xbox controllers to choose from, and this has been expanded to include more choices in terms of design and functionality.

While the Ghost Cipher Special Edition is expected to create buzz, it should be mentioned that some of the users might be worried about the changes to the Xbox controller packaging. It has been reported that some changes have caused some minor inconvenience to the Xbox users but Microsoft has not made any comment in regard to this. Additionally, Microsoft recently declared layoffs of 650 employees in its Xbox business unit as part of a larger restructuring.

However, the upcoming release schedule looks more promising, with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is expected to be released next month and then Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in December.
