Shiba Inu is seeing increasing adoption in Web2 as companies look to take advantage of its massive supporter base. One of these companies is Travala, a travel company that started offering SHIB payments back in 2021. Once again, the travel booking company has taken its support of SHIB one step further with the launch of a new program that will allow SHIB holders to earn commissions.
Travel Launches Referral Program For SHIB Holders
On Wednesday, Travala took to Twitter to announce that Shiba Inu holders can now earn on their platform. The new referral program would allow users to earn up to 5.55 referral commissions when someone uses their affiliate link.
Now, the announcement exclusively mentions SHIB holders as being eligible for the referral program. The new program which seems to be aimed at increasing the usage of SHIB as a payment method on the platform will provide a referral bonus when someone pays on Travala using SHIB via the affiliate’s link.
Hey, $SHIB holders!

A breakdown of the program and the accompanying rewards shows that affiliates will earn the most for hotel bookings made using their affiliate link. The commission for hotel bookings was placed at 5%, while flight bookings will see the affiliates earn 4%.
Last but not least is the commission for users registering with the affiliate’s link. This time around, they will earn 0.5% from the bookings made by every new user, as long as they registered using their affiliate link.
Shiba Inu Adoption Continues
Travala was one of the first companies to announce support for Shiba Inu payments. This was around the height of the bull market in 2021 when the hype was at its all-time high. It gave the meme coin more real-world utility by allowing users to pay for travel bookings using the platform.
Earlier this week, City Pay, a payment service provider in Georgia, announced a new integration with Binance Pay. Since SHIB is one of the cryptocurrencies that users can pay with using Binance Pay, it has once more expanded the reach of the meme coin.
This partnership means that Shiba Inu holders would be able to make payments using their tokens in more than 600 merchants in Georgia, including the prestigious Radisson Hotel, as well as others.
However, despite the adoptions, SHIB is not seeing much upside from the news. The meme coin has almost shed all of its gains from the last couple of days. It is currently trading at a price of $0.00001103 after dropping 2.7% in the last day.
